| Forrest MacCormack began making photos in the mid-1980's in high school. A few years later he graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology cum laude with a degree in photography. Then, based in the Washington, DC, area and traveling extensively while picking up skills, he assisted location and studio photographers all over the country for several years. Forrest got his first big assignment for USA Today newspaper in 1996 and has been freelancing for them ever since. He has taken assignments for The Atlantic Monthly, The Washington Flyer Magazine, Working Mother Magazine, Diabetes Forecast, The Rails-To-Trails Conservancy, The American Bar Association Journal, OnEarth Magazine and ACEC Engineering Inc. He's had photos published in U.S. News & World Report, People Magazine, The New York Times, and Baltimore Magazine. Forrest is the recipient of a 2011 United Arts Council grant to complete a new body of work, a photographic documentation of the Neuse River Basin. His editorial stock is listed with Bigshotstock.
