Bike Week

Hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists and motorcycling enthusiasts from around the US and world converge every spring on Daytona, Florida for Bike Week. I made these images during three consecutive annual visits during the early 1990's to the event. Bike week got its start in 1937 with the running of motorcycle races held on the unique hard packed sands of Daytona Beach. It is now a 10-day festival with hundreds of events held in the surrounding Daytona area. Dubbed "The World’s Largest Motorcycle Event ©” Bike Week has evolved into much more than a racing event.
