I photographed this in a barn in rural Wayne County, North Carolina. This jar was basically exposed to the elements other than direct rain as it was on an open shelf in the open vestibule of the barn. There were lots of fascinating items on the shelves, rusted wrenches, screwdrivers, old belts, farming implements. I researched Jeannette Mason jars - seems this jar was made in Jeannette, PA which is know for its glassware. Jeannette earned the nickname as "the glass city" in recognition of the numerous glass plants that were founded in the area.
